The History of the Cartoon Introduction -Idea
The first idea of my project is to understanding what the cartoon histories are and meaning in social culture and how to create the good cartoons forms in graphic design works. But when I deeply getting understanding cartoon, I find in china and Taiwan , there is no particularly Chinese style cartoon.
But what is cartoon? In general speaking, Cartoon is a kind of humorous drawing, pictorial sketch or caricature, by implication humorous or satirical, and usually published in a newspaper, magazine, or periodical. It has mostly been used to describe three specific kinds of drawing. But in Taiwan , Taiwanese Hand Puppet Theater is a popular type of cartoons arts in the Taiwanese spoken societies; Hand Puppet is the breakthrough of Traditional Arts. In the general impression of present time is no more an informal puppet show of historical stories watched by crowds in front of a temple but the TV version Hand Puppet Theater enhanced with sound and special effects.
